Walters State gearing up for fall semester

Registration is now underway for fall semester at Walters State Community College. Classes begin Aug. 26.

Walters State offers over 150 programs of study. Around half of all students plan take the first two years and transfer to a four-year university to complete a bachelor’s degree, while the other half will enter the workforce after completing Walters State. The college offers the following: associate of applied science; the associate of science; the associate of arts; the associate of fine arts; and the associate of teaching. The college also offers technical certificates to meet the demands of area employers.

Classes are offered at campuses in Morristown, Greeneville, Sevierville and Tazewell and at a center in Newport. Students may choose to take online, day or evening classes.

For students registering now, fees will be due at 4 p.m. on Aug. 21. Fees for dual enrollment classes are due on Sept. 3. Payment plans are available, and many students receive financial aid or scholarships from local, state and federal sources.
