Morristown Tree Board receives accolades from Arbor Day Foundation

The City of Morristown has again been awarded the Tree City Award from the Arbor Day Foundation. For two decades now, the foundation has recognized the efforts of the Morristown Tree Board, staff, and community volunteers.

The Tree City USA program was founded in 1976 to celebrate cities that were committed to growing their urban tree canopy. In partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, USDA Forest Service and the National Associate of State Foresters, the program provides communities with the foundation to manage and expand their tree cover. The City enrolled in the program 20 years ago, leading to concentrated efforts to plant and maintain an abundant tree canopy in Morristown.
