Funeral services will be held Friday for a local man who shared his passion through the years for the Lakeway Area, through various artistic endeavors.
William Trent died last Wednesday at the age of 80. Mr. Trent was born in Rogersville. At an early age, worked at his father’s store, Trent’s Little Market.
After serving his country in the U.S. Air Force, he settled in Morristown, where he received an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science at Walters State Community College. He worked as a sales rep through the years at School Calendar Company, Morrison’s Communications and Charter Media.
He was an avid collector of local music, later donating his collection of recordings to ETSU, along with other historic and cultural research to various historical museums and organizations throughout the area.
Mr. Trent wrote two books, entitled “Across the Mountain Over on Clinch: A Folk History: Volumes I and II” and catalogued and photographed nearly every wildflower inside Panther Creek State Park – and his book is available for viewing at the park’s Welcome Center.
Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City is handling the arrangements for William Trent, with family services on Friday.
