Suspect in bank robbery nabbed by FBI, MPD

The FBI and the Morristown Police Department took a bank robbery suspect into custody following the robbery Tuesday morning at a Knoxville TVA Credit Union branch near exit 8 of Interstate 81.

They identified him as Jason Lee Marshall, 35, and said he was found in a motel room on East Andrew Johnson Highway Tuesday night. Authorities said he barricaded in the room after officers contacted him. Tactical police entered the room, following hours of attempted negotiations. They also said that there were superficial cuts to his arms, but no other injuries were reported from Marshall or the officers.  A woman inside the motel room was also apprhended.

Authorities said he entered the TVA Employees Credit Union at 5327 Winners Circle Road at 9:20am Tuesday, handed tellers a note and demanded money. The tellers complied with the suspect.

Charges were placed on Marshall for the robbery, according to a release from authorities.
