Three charged in Morristown robbery that led to fatal shooting

Three individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at 2200 Morningside Drive on June 7, 2021. The robbery resulted in serious bodily injury of the targeted victim and death of a co-conspirator.

Marcus Roberts, Hayden Vick and a juvenile turned themselves in to Morristown Police Detective Phil Hurst on June 28, 2021, following the investigation. The investigation revealed that the suspects lured Luis Gaona to the residence of 2200 Morningside Dr., Apartment 28, under the false pretense of selling a gun. Once Gaona was inside, the door was locked behind him and he was threatened at gunpoint in order to rob him. The robbery resulted in the victim being shot multiple times causing serious bodily injury as well as the death of co-conspirator, HJ Roberts.

Marcus Roberts and Hayden Vick are charged with Especially Aggravated Robbery; they are being held without bond at the Hamblen County Jail, pending their arraignment. The juvenile was taken to Juvenile Holding where he will be in custody pending a detention hearing; he is also charged with Especially Aggravated Robbery.
