Walters State May Noncredit Courses Are Utility Safety, ServSafe, Parenting and Divorce

Walters State Community College will offer Servsafe, Online Parenting and Divorce and utilities safety noncredit courses in May.

Basic Safety for Utilities, May 5, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., $129

This class reviews confined spaces, trenching and excavation, protective equipment, lock out/tag out and the most cited standards when working with utilities.


Servsafe Sanitation and Safety, May 31, 8 a.m.-6 p.m., $109.

This class is based on the National Restaurant Association’s educational guides and includes a study of the hazard analysis critical control point system and training in all areas of food safety relevant to a food establishment. Federal and state laws, rules and regulations are stressed. This course is designed to help build an understanding of the principles of sanitation and safety and how to apply those in the food service workplace.


Parenting and Divorce, May 13 or May 27, 5:30-9:30 p.m., $60.

This court meets the Tennessee requirement for a parenting class by all divorcing parents. Improve your co-parenting communication skills and make the transition easier. This class will make divorce less traumatic for everyone, especially your children.
