Construction bids for the new Morristown community center, to be built in the western part of the city, south of the Merchants Greene development will go out in spring 2020.
Construction is expected to take about a year and a half.
It is anticipated to cost $36 million dollars. Over the summer, city council passed a 25 cent city property tax hike to pay for construction.
After council voted to authorize issuing up to $37.25 million in debt for the project, the city last week accepted a bond bid package of the same financial figure with Robert W. Baird and Company for the debt.
The 30 year fixed interest rate was set at a favorable 2.75%.
