Tennessee with the highest percentage of overweight children in the country

With November being National Diabetes Awareness Month and Americans spending nearly $200 billion per year on obesity-related health costs, the personal-finance website WalletHub has released its report on 2019’s Fattest States in America.

To determine which states contribute the most to America’s overweight and obesity problem, WalletHub compared the country across 29 key metrics. Tennessee has the highest percentage of overweight children in the country, 18th in the percentage of Overweight Adults, 6th in the percentage of adults with Type 2 Diabetes, it ranks 7th in the nation in the percentage of adults with High Cholesterol and Hypertension, and it ranks 17th in Obesity-Related Deaths.
