Emergency course May 28 will teach recipients how to deal with bloody wounds

MORRISTOWN,TN – – A person with a severely bleeding wound can die from blood loss in five minutes or less.
Thus, it is critically important to control that loss of blood, quickly and correctly.

Uncontrolled bleeding is the number one cause of preventable traumatic death.
Individuals adequately trained to provide this type of help can make a life-saving difference to those injured.
This course will teach the importance of “Stopping The Bleed”.

Participants will learn how to:
Identify the source of the bleeding
Basic life-saving interventions including: Bleeding control with DIRECT PRESSURE, GAUZE PACKS, PACKING THE WOUND, and the
proper use of a TOURNIQUET.

Each participant will have the opportunity to perform each skill in the course.
This is a low stress course appropriate for the general public and public safety.
There is no charge for this class.
Class size is limited to 25.
